N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine is a kind of organic matter, the chemical formula is C5H9NO3S, white crystalline powder, has a garlic-like smell, sour taste. It has the properties of hygroscopicity, soluble in water or ethanol, insoluble in ether and chloroform. It is an N-acetylated derivative of cysteine, which contains sulfhydryl group, which can break the disulfide bond of mucin peptide bond (- Smurl S -), so that the mucin chain becomes a small molecular peptide chain and reduces the viscosity of mucin.
